My Story:
It’s been over 20 years since I entered Traditional Chinese Medicine. Being an acupuncturist was not on my radar when I was studying business at the University of Calgary. I became an acupuncturist by searching to understand my own health concerns. Stressed at my office job, experiencing unresolved pain, I decided to look at what options were available to me after going through the medical system. I had never tried acupuncture before, I knew very little about it, and quite frankly I was terrified of needles. I did not have extended benefits for treatments and paid out of pocket for acupuncture treatments. The result was profound for me, opening a new possibility of healing for my mental, physical and spiritual health. My passion for this art of healing led me to quit my job and now I have my own clinic!
My grandfather, Nihal Singh Chopra, practiced Ayurveda, a traditional Eastern medicine of India. I am grateful to continue my family’s ancestral lineage use of Eastern Medicine.
What is the meaning of Santosh?
It is a Punjabi/Sanskrit word that means to be fully content, satisfied, and grateful. To me, it means to ‘love who you are.’ My wish for my patients is to experience the feeling of “Santosh”.
